Headaches can be complicated and not all headaches are migraine. However the prevalence of migraine headaches is high. Migraine affects 1 out of 7 Americans annually. Headaches are also one of the leading cause of Emergency Department visits. The treatment for migraine is different then other kind of headaches. Headaches can be related to stress, or sometimes can be generated from bad discs or joints or pinched nerves in the cervical spine. Headaches can also be side effect of some medications. Tight neck muscles after whiplash injuries can often cause headaches and if not treated early can become a chronic problem.
